Elina Griniece has more than eight years of experience working in the area of European research and innovation policy. During her career, she has carried out a wide range of policy studies, evaluations and impact assessments at European and national level. Her research interests include new policy approaches for tackling systemic societal challenges and novel impact assessment methods of R&I policies. Particularly she is interested in the application of systems thinking, complexity science and various advances in theory-based evaluation to scope and account for broad societal impacts.
Elina has led EFIS Centre work on devising a model for socio-economic impact assessment of investment in research infrastructures. Currently she is the project manager of H2020 project RI-PATHS (www.ri-paths.eu) that aims to develop a logical model for describing the socio-economic impact of research infrastructures (RIs) adaptable to a braod range of scientific domains and types of RIs.
