Rui Mendes is currently the Head of International Affairs at Instituto Superior Técnico (PT), member of advisory committee of T.I.M.E. Association, member of the Follow-up committee of MAGALHAES Network, member of the Task Force in International Cooperation of the CESAER Network and local coordinator for several European Projects (Strategic Partnership and Capacity Building for Higher Education). He is also a member of the Cascais Municipal Assembly in Portugal (5th largest city) with the role of president of the Comission for Education, Culture and Sports. He is a former member of the school council of Instituto Superior Técnico, of the General Council of the University of Lisbon and a representative of the same Institution at the Working Group of CRUP (Council of Deans of the Portuguese Universities) regarding the Professional integration of Graduates in Portugal. Previously he has served as coordinator of IST Studies and Projects Unit, as Coordinator of IST’s Graduate Employability Observatory and has managed a number of European projects in HE. Rui holds a MSc degree in Statistics and Management of Information.
