Dr. Reetta Kettunen Ms.
is the Secretary General for Committee for Public Information. The Committee is an expert body attached to the Ministry of Education and Culture. It follows progress in science and research, arts and technology and the development of knowledge. Kettunen has a strong experience in science communication and science policy. Her previous working experience includes positions as editor-in-chief in the field of popular science books, scientific secretary and programme manager. Kettunen acts as a board member of Tutkas - the Society for Members of the Finnish Parliament and Scientists and the Tieteen tiedotus ry (a society for science communication). She is a member of Finnish National Commission for Unesco and chairs the Organising Committee for Turku International Book fair. Currently she is co-leading a four-year project that is concentrating on responsible research and science communication. The aim is to promote ethical standards and research integrity in science communication so that publishing and communicating science is both thought-provoking, interesting and ethically sustainable.
