Tony Mayer is an earth scientist born in Wales and educated at the University of Manchester. He conducted research at Leicester University and University College, London before joining the UK Natural Environment Research Council. He then worked in the science planning office of Ocean Drilling Program based in Rhode Island, USA. He is currently the Research Integrity Adviser at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore and is also the Treasurer and Governing Board member of EuroScience. He was previously the Director of the COST Office in Brussels and Head of Strategy at the European Science Foundation, Strasbourg and Chief of Staff to its Secretary General. Tony served as the Scientific Secretary to the European Research Advisory Board. He was the co-chair and co-organiser of the First (Lisbon 2007), Second (Singapore 2010) and Fifth (Amsterdam 2017) World Conferences on Research Integrity. He is an invited speaker on research integrity at many events around the World.
