Dr. Geneviève Almouzni is Director of the Research Center at Institut Curie (Paris, France). Her research has made several key contributions to the field of chromatin, from development of in vitro assays to identification of the role of important histone chaperones and variants. Her current research interests include understanding the basic principles of 3D organization in the nucleus and their interrelationships with genome stability. Dr. Almouzni has pioneered many European and international collaborations to promote research in the field of epigenetics and served as a co-coordinator of the European Network of Excellence EpiGeneSys and, currently, is a co-coordinator of the DEEP LabEx. She was elected Co-Chair of EU-Life in 2016 and Chair in 2018. Throughout her career, Dr. Almouzni has strongly supported the careers of young PIs and female researchers. Her work has been recognized by numerous distinctions and honours, such as the prestigious Officier dans l'Ordre National du Mérite in 2017. She was elected at the French Académie des Sciences in 2013 and received the FEBS/EMBO Women in Science award and the AAAS award the same year. She was nominated vice-chair of the EMBO council in 2014 and European Academy of Cancer Sciences Fellow.
