Marta Agostinho is the EU-LIFE Coordinator, an alliance of 13 leading independent research institutes in the life sciences distributed across Europe. A life sciences researcher with 12 years’ experience in knowledge mediation in international settings, her fields of action includes science policy, strategic science management, science communication and outreach; and scientific advanced training. In addition, Marta Agostinho has large experience in academic teaching (doctoral, masters and undergraduate level) and supervision of teams, working groups and task forces in research governance environment.
As Coordinator of EU-LIFE, Marta overseas the implementation of the strategy of the alliance. Her work focuses on 1) science policy including leading the EU-LIFE activity in policy for science funding, open science & European Research Area, research integrity, research infrastructures, etc.; 2) promoting excellence at research governance level, i.e. institutional policies and practices; 3) and creating opportunities for life sciences researchers by promoting mobility, career development and scientific collaborations.
