Sarah Blackford is an academic career consultant, and honorary teaching fellow (Lancaster University, UK) specializing in providing career support to PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. With a background in research and science communication and qualified with a master’s degree in career guidance in Higher Education, Sarah offers support and career coaching to those who are looking to make a successful transition to the next stage of their career, whether within or outside of academia. Training topics include essential career management skills such as job seeking strategies, making informed career choices, networking skills, academic mobility, how to secure non-academic careers, CV writing and successful interview technique. Support is delivered as group workshops within universities, research institutes and at conferences and also in one-to-one career guidance consultations.
